Starting Or Ending Your Depression Pills

When you start a treatment of anti-depressant depression pills, or stop taking them, you must know what you're doing...

The benefits of taking antidepressants don't start over night. You usually need to take them for several weeks before you see any real signs of your depression lifting.

And if you're thinking of stopping, it is recommended that you don't just stop your anti-depressant depression pills suddenly. Stopping your antidepressants all of a sudden is a major 'no-no'. If you just 'stop' you might find yourself feeling really terrible. So it is recommended that you talk to your doctor before you stop taking them.

"Withdrawal symptoms, consisting of nausea, headache, sleep disturbances and anxiety, may occur after stopping any antidepressant. Although there is no certain way of preventing this happening, it is always a good idea to gradually decrease your dose over a period of about four weeks."
