Acupunture Was Disappointing For Me - Ian's Review, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) Sufferer

by Ian
(Kilmarnock)

As an M.E. sufferer (I've never been tested for Fibromyalgia) I have tried acupuncture on numerous occasions (probably as many as 50 times). If you're wondering why I tried it that often, I stayed at a Chinese clinic for a month and also tried it in my home town.

Overall I found acupunture to be very costly for all it is. I found no benefit but mainly negative effects. After a session I would feel pretty tired, particularly in the head and eyes and would need to rest for about an hour. Not what you'd expect from a treatment that involves lying down and relaxing.

As for the needles, they are not especially painful so don't let that put you off. But personally, I would say I found acupuncture to be a big disappointment in terms of treatment for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.)

Interesting Review About Acupuncture For Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
by: Sleepydust

Hi Ian

It's very interesting to read that you've tried acupuncture so many times, and actually experienced adverse effects without any noticeable benefits for your M.E.

Thanks for sharing your experiences - I hope you've found a more suitable treatment or therapy since then Ian.

Wishing you the best in health

Claire, Sleepydust
